This area of marshland, surrounded by the waters of the Lee Valley, lay quiet and peaceful. It was barely touched by man with the exception of the fishery and local landholder.
In the early 1800s all this changed. The Royal Small Arms factory was built and a thriving community developed.
The site was regenerated in the late 1990s when the factory finally closed its doors.
Thirteen hundred homes were constructed and a new purpose built community became a part of its history.
